About - VertiGrow

Who are we?

Founded in 2019, VertiGrow specializes in providing hardware and software solutions for large-scale vertical farms.Since then we’ve worked with microgreens farms of all sizes, from basements to warehouses. Our goal has always been the same, to provide tools to the urban farmers who are actively making their communities, and the world as a whole, a better place.

The VertiGrow mission

The farming industry is in need of reform. As more wild, fertile land is claimed for agriculture, our ecosystems are hurting. Vertical urban farming cannot replace traditional agriculture, but it can supplement the supply chain while using significantly less land and resources.

Recent years have revealed to us how fragile long supply chains can be, emphasizing the importance of self-sufficiency. Urban farmers play a crucial role in addressing large-scale issues by shortening supply chains. Growing local provides communities with fresher, cleaner food, and creates jobs and entrepreneurs while keeping more money in the local economy. By bringing the farm closer to the people, we can start to reconnect with the most important products humanity produces.

Bill 216: Food Literacy For Students

VertiGrow is part of a group that is working with the Ontario (Canada) government to introduce food education into the curriculum from grades 1 to 12. We believe that students should have the opportunity to not only learn about the food industry, but also get hands-on experience growing food in class.
